News and Notes: October 2012

General Information:
Important Calendar Note regarding SEW. High school classes run through work detail on Thursday (3:10 p.m.) Students will begin departing for ITF at 3:15 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: Junior High classes (this year only) are cancelled for Friday morning due to the large number of teachers involved in high school SEW or otherwise absent. Junior High SEW will still start at 1 p.m. Friday as scheduled. The elementary schedule is unaffected by SEW.
Elementary:
Assembly.  Our next assembly will be October 24 at 8:00 am in the conference kitchen. We will be introducing our next spiritual goal – Humility. We will continue to emphasize that it should be our goal in life to Please God and that we please Him by Living Like Jesus. “Your attitudes should be the same as that of Christ Jesus, who … made himself nothing.” (Phil 2:5,7) Humility is the “soil” that allows all of the other fruits of the Spirit to grow.

Lice check and Vision screening.
A lice check will take place on Friday, October 12 for Kindergarten through Grade 6. A notice will come home with your child if you need to treat for lice.

Games Night.
Our next Games Night will be Friday, October 26. Grades 1&2 will meet at the Sports Complex from 7-8pm, Grades 3&4 will meet in the Conference Dining Hall from 7-8:15pm, and Grades 5&6 will meet in the Gym from 7-8:30pm. Please contact the Elementary Office if you have any questions.
