News & Notes: December 2014

NCA Christmas Concert will be held on Friday, December 12th, at 7 pm. Come and hear our elementary students and our band put on a Christmas celebration for us!

NCA Invitational:  The NCA Boys’ soccer and Girls’ Basketball Invitational Tournament will be held on Saturday, December 13th. Because this tournament is so late in the year, it may be of a relatively small scale.

Elementary Assembly – December 10th – Everyone is invited to come to the elementary assembly in the conference dining hall, starting at 7:45 am, to hear what the students have to share with us.

Elementary students will be released early on Dec 16 (1:55 pm) and Dec 17 (12:10 pm) due to the longer work detail for the high school during the exam schedule.

Semester exams cover material from Terms 1 & 2. Please encourage your high school student to spend adequate time preparing for exams as they are weighted 20% of the semester grade. For all exams, students are to remain in the room during the entire scheduled time. At the teacher’s discretion, students may bring extra study materials or personal reading material to use if they finish their exam early. If a student has a scheduled study hall during a 2-hour exam period, they may stay & study quietly in the library, or stay at home – one place or the other.

Travel Plans: Sometimes families consider travel plans that may cause their children to miss some days of school. If you find yourself in this situation, please contact the admin. if at all possible before purchasing any tickets. It will be to your child’s benefit to check with the school before definite dates are set or tickets are purchased. We are more flexible for situations where it is for reasons outside of your control, but if it is simply an elective choice, you may have to deal with some consequences that could have been avoided by simply having kept us in the loop.
