What are progress reports used for?
Mid-term and term-end progress reports are used to check how far along and how well your student is doing in the course. The NMT evaluates and offers additional follow-up to students who are significantly behind or failing the course. Progress reports are not used to determine the final grade for the course or to determine sports eligibility.
What do I do if my student notices a discrepancy between the online and print versions of the course?
Some students have noticed small but significant differences between the online version of their course and the print version that is available in the high school office. UNHS is aware of this problem and the teachers want to work with your student to rectify the situation. If your student notices a problem (particularly one that affected their grade), please email with your student’s name, course, evaluation number, question number, and information about what happened.
When is the next progress report due?
The next progress report is due to by Wednesday, October 21st. At this point, we expect your student to be at least half-way through the semester one course. Please contact the high school office if you are unsure how to access or turn in this information.
Spiritual Emphasis Weekend (SEW):
9th-12th Grade Spiritual Emphasis Weekend – We are excited that a team from Hume Lake will be coming to do SEW with our students this year. Students and parents will receive information after the term starts about what to bring, what not to bring, and other details. In the meantime, please direct any questions to Miss Green at .
7th and 8th Grade Spiritual Emphasis Weekend – We are excited that the team from Hume Lake will also be doing SEW for our seventh and eighth grade students. Students will have SEW at Lapilo from 3:15 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 17th and at Sobega from 8 am to 8 pm on Wednesday, November 18th. Students and parents will receive information after the term starts about what to bring, transportation, and other details. In the meantime, please direct any questions to Miss Green at .
There will be lots of ways to help with SEW this year. Joanie Bowers will be organizing meals for the team while they are staying at Lapilo Center. Your family may consider having them over for a meal or providing snacks for them. We also will need adults to help with gathering of materials, security, transportation, and meals during SEW. We hope you’ll be able to be a part of making this a memorable time for our students.
