General Information

PNG Independence Day

PNG Independence Day at Lapilo Centre will look a bit different this year. We invite you to join us on Friday, 15 September as we celebrate with our local community from 10:00am – 2:00pm.  The Lapilo Centre Management Team is still making plans so stay tuned for more details. NCA will NOT be planning the celebrations, and classes will not be organizing booths. The Junior Class will be running a Kai Bar as a service project, and there will also be a couple of PNG style food vendors here. If you need more information or want to find out how you can be involved, please email Scott Sasaki at .

Library Reminders

Mommy and Me Storytime time is every Thursday morning at 9:15. If you have a baby, toddler, or preschooler, come join the fun!

The elementary library is open every day until 4 pm. The high school library is also open after school as a place to do homework, utilize laptops, or read in comfort.

All books will be due on the last day of the term, October 5. If books are not renewed or returned by that date, there will be a $5.00 fine.

Last Day of Term 1

Term 1 ends on Thursday, October 5.  This is a full day of school, not a half-day.

Our next elementary assembly is scheduled for October 4 at 7:45 am.  You are invited to come to the Conference Dining Hall to hear from each elementary class.

Jr. & Sr. High

Physical Education Credit

In light of scheduling difficulties encountered over the last two years, the NMT has decided that grade 9-12 students can earn one-half credit this school year for participation in two extracurricular sports. The half credit will be applied to the physical education requirement for graduation. We’ll reevaluate this at the end of the school year to determine if it will be an option in future years.

The PSAT test will be held for all grade 11 students on Wednesday, October 25 during the school day. Juniors who are U.S. citizens are also automatically enrolled in the National Merit Scholarship Competition. If you would like more information about the PSAT and the National Merit Scholarship Program, call the high school office at 7999.0707 or ask your junior about the information packet that was given to them earlier this week.

NCA will give the SAT test on Saturday, October 7. The registration deadline is Friday, September 8. Students can register and get more information, including links to practice problems and test-taking tips, at NCA will give the SAT again in May.

NCA will give the ACT test on Saturday, October 28. The registration deadline is Friday, September 22. Students can register and get more information at NCA will give the ACT again in April.
