General Information 

Noon Dismissal on This Wednesday. All students will be dismissed at 12:10 on this Wednesday, September 5.

 

Immunizations. If you are new to NCA or if your child has turned 12 in the last year, please update your immunization record through the NTM Medical Clinic. You can make an appointment with a nurse to do this by contacting the clinic.

 

Tuition Billing. First semester tuition billing will occur in September. Additional charges for PE uniforms, hat purchases, and library fines will also be included. NTM parents will see charges on their statements divided over the next four months. Non-NTM parents will receive an invoice for the whole amount via email.

 

Elementary

Kids that Live at Lapilo. Elementary students will be dismissed at 12:10 for lunch. For Lapilo students who go home for lunch, elementary students may return to the playground after 12:55 pm. Classes begin again promptly at 1:00 pm. Students are dismissed at 2:45 pm each day. Expect your students at home soon after, and please keep them away from the school and gym until after 3:05.

 

Assembly. The last assembly of the term is on Wednesday, September 26. Each grade level will share something that they have been learning.

Elementary Library Hours. The elementary library is open from 9 am – 4 pm daily. It is closed for lunch, but it is open during work detail. Mommy and Me time is every Friday at 9:15 am.

 

Jr. & Sr. High 

 

Provincial Tournament. This Friday, September 7, is the Provincial Tournament at UIS. All grade 9-12 students are dismissed for the day. Grades 1-8 will have classes as usual.

 

Yearbook. Students in grades 9-12 can earn credit for producing the yearbook this year. They will also receive a hard cover yearbook for their work. The class will meet during period 7 for terms 2 and 3. This opportunity is available to students who are currently in study hall or PE during period 7. Encourage your student to talk to Miss Green if they are interested.

 

Spiritual Emphasis Weekend (SEW).

9th-12th Grade Spiritual Emphasis Weekend – We are excited that a team from Hume Lake will be coming to do SEW with our students this year. Students will leave after school on Thursday, September 27 and stay at Orobiga through the morning of Sunday, September 30. Students and parents will receive more information soon about what to bring, what not to bring, and other details. In the meantime, please direct any questions to Mr. Hammonds.

 

7th and 8th Grade Spiritual Emphasis Weekend – We are thrilled that the team from Hume Lake will also be doing SEW at Lapilo for our seventh and eighth grade students. Students will have SEW on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 2 and all day on Wednesday, October 3. Students and parents will receive more information soon about details. In the meantime, please direct any questions to Mr. Hammonds.

 

Hume Lake Meals. Joanie Bowers is organizing meals for the Hume Lake team that is coming to serve our students through SEW. If you don’t live at Lapilo and are interested in helping to provide breakfast or snack items for the team, please contact Joanie.

 

PSAT. The PSAT test will be held for all grade 11 students on Wednesday, October 24 during the school day. Juniors who are U.S. citizens are also automatically enrolled in the National Merit Scholarship Competition. If you would like more information about the PSAT and the National Merit Scholarship Program, contact Miss Green.

 

SAT. NCA will give the SAT test on Saturday, October 6. The registration deadline is Friday, September 7. Students can register and get more information, including links to practice problems and test-taking tips, at https://sat.collegeboard.org/register/sat-international-dates. NCA will give the SAT again in May.

 

ACT. NCA is scheduled to give the ACT test on Saturday, December 8. Details are still being sorted, and you can’t yet register for it.
