Please remember that Christmas Festival is NOT open to the general public. It is open to the NTM and NCA communities. If you know of somebody else who would like to attend, please advise them to contact Craig Hammonds.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

The NCA and Community Christmas Program will be held on Friday, December 14 at 7 pm in the gym, with doors opening at 6:45. NCA elementary and junior high students will be performing. The elementary lunch choir and the adult community choir will be singing too.

There will be a time of holiday fellowship after the Christmas Program. Please bring a plate of finger-food treats to share with others.

If you or your child are performing, wear a solid color shirt (red, white, or green) with dark-colored pants or a skirt. Meet in the gym at 6:15 pm.

OVER THE BREAK

Semester reports for elementary and high school students will not be completed and distributed until after the New Year.

Teachers and administrators will be working over the long Christmas break. The best way to get ahold of staff during this time is via email. You can also call the high school office.

2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR

We’re already looking to the 2019-2020 school year. We are in need of elementary teachers, elementary specials teachers, high school core academic teachers, and high school electives teachers. We have needs in almost every area! If you know of an interested teacher, please direct them to ethnos360.org/go/teach-abroad.

Do you know of any students that are planning to join NCA that have not attended previously? Please email Robyn Green with a heads up about new families. (Be the twelfth person to email Robyn to say that you’ve read this edition of News and Notes and win The Wonder of the Greatest Gift Advent Celebration Kit by Ann Voskamp.)

GRAFFITTI

There has recently been some vandalism in the form of graffiti on the cement wall by the playground and in the middle building boys’ bathroom. We have every reason to believe it was students who did this. Can you please talk to your children about the importance of respecting property by not writing on it? And ask them if they have any insight into the recent vandalism?

EXAM SCHEDULE

Grade 9-12 academic courses will have semester exams covering material from terms 1 and 2. The schedule for grade 7 and 8 students is affected even though they do not have semester exams.

POST-HS PLANNING

NCA will have a post-HS planning meeting at 7 pm on Thursday, January 24 in M3. It is designed to be most helpful for current grade 11 students and their parents, but grade 10 students who will be in their home countries over the summer or grade 12 students that don’t have a plan may also find it beneficial.

ACT

We will be able to offer the ACT on Saturday, February 9. Please visit www.act.org to register before January 11. Grade 12 and grade 11 students can benefit from taking the ACT at this time as we will not be able to give the ACT in April. There are study guides available in the HS library.
