General Goals: Students will achieve proficiency in the following content areas: Develop procedural ability for adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers, decimals, and fractions. Use formula to find area & perimeter of quadrilaterals and triangles. Develop abilities for estimation and mental math, determining when solutions are reasonable. Explore basic concepts in geometry, statistics, and probability.

Goals By Term

Term 1 – Ch. 1: Understanding Place Value, Ch. 2: Adding and Subtracting Decimals, Ch. 3: Using Data and Statistics.
Term 2 – Ch. 4: Multiplying Whole Numbers, Ch. 5: Dividing by One Digit Numbers, Ch. 6: Dividing by Two Digit Numbers.
Term 3 – Ch. 7: Geometry, Ch. 8: Multiplying and Dividing Decimals, Ch. 9: Fraction Concepts.
Term 4 – Ch. 10: Working with Fractions, Ch. 11: Measurement, Ch. 12: Ratio, Percent, and Probability.
